PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a landmark initiative launched by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 13th February 2024. The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and aims to transform India's energy landscape by promoting rooftop solar installations in residential households across the country.
The scheme is the world's largest domestic rooftop solar initiative with a bold vision to supply solar power to one crore households by March 2027. This transformative initiative empowers households to adopt clean energy, reinforcing India's commitment to sustainable development and energy innovation.
Vision & Mission
Vision: To make India a global leader in rooftop solar energy adoption and provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity to every household.
Mission: Install rooftop solar systems in 1 crore households by March 2027, providing up to 300 units of free electricity per month to each household.

About MNRE
